From Mabati Dispensary to a Modern Health Centre Our journey began in 1999 when Bishop Colin Davies of the Catholic Diocese of Ngong invited the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro to support the evangelization efforts in Nkoroi. As the Sisters worked closely with the community, they saw a dire need for accessible healthcare services, leading to the establishment of a small dispensary built from corrugated iron sheets (Mabati Dispensary). With community support and contributions from well-wishers, the dispensary expanded over the years, and in 2015, St. Peter Claver RC Health Centre was officially established.
Since 2016, we have expanded our services to remote and underserved areas through mobile medical outreach programs.
These areas include:
Treatment of all diseases
Our healthcare team provides diagnosis and treatment for common and chronic illnesses in underserved communities. We ensure that patients receive proper medical care regardless of their financial status.
Vaccination
We provide essential immunization services for infants, children, and adults to prevent life-threatening diseases. These efforts help reduce the spread of infectious diseases within remote communities.
Eye clinic
The mobile eye clinic offers screenings, treatment, and referrals for eye conditions such as cataracts and infections. Our goal is to improve vision health, especially for the elderly and school children.
Antenatal clinic
Expectant mothers receive prenatal checkups, nutritional advice, and health education to ensure safe pregnancies. Our services aim to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
Health education
We conduct community health talks on hygiene, disease prevention, and family planning. Educating the public empowers them to make informed health decisions.
Home visiting
Our team visits the homes of elderly, disabled, and chronically ill patients who cannot travel to the health facility. These visits ensure that vulnerable individuals receive continuous medical support and care..
Our health centre plays a vital role in tackling major health issues affecting the Maasai community and other residents in the region. These include:
🚨 Trachoma & Eye Infections
🚨 Malaria, Tuberculosis & Pneumonia
🚨 Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) & Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
